Love me let me go

"Love Me Let Me Go" was the first single to be released by Andrew Chen back in 2020. He wrote the song when he was only 16 years old. Originally it was planned to be released during the spring of 2020 but due to COVID-19, it was delayed until the beginning of the fall.

The song is about "on and off" relationships where you hold onto the last straw. You come to realize that this might end very soon but still, you don't want to let go. This rocky relationship feels like a comfort zone and you are afraid of the unknown. However, there is a saying "If you love somebody, you got to let them go". In this song, this perspective has been turned upside down, therefore, "Love Me Let Me Go".

The music video was recorded by MBC Productions at a secret abandoned location.

The song is written by Andrew Chen, produced by Morten Bytofte, and mastered by Holger Lagerfeldt.

HOPE

"Hope" was the second single to be released by Andrew Chen in 2020. It came out shortly after "Love Me Let Me Go", and did great streaming-wise the first few months of its release.

The song was originally very different from the released version. At first "Hope" was written to a friend of Andrew Chen but during a writing session it was changed into a relatable love story where things might not always be great when you are in a relationship but at least you still got hope.

The music video was recorded by MBC Productions and filming took place in the north of Jutland (DK), and in a local swimming facility in the town where Andrew Chen grew up.

The song is written by Andrew Chen, produced by Morten Bytofte, and mastered by Holger Lagerfeldt.

In The Night

"In The Night" became the 3rd single to be released by Andrew Chen in 2021. It has a slightly darker tone and feeling than the rest of Andrew Chen's songs. In the demo version of "In The Night," the chorus was way different and needed a bridge. After a very long writing session, Andrew Chen sat back home in his bedroom. Half an hour later Andrew Chen called his producer Morten Bytofte and told him that he had written a bridge for "In The Night," which ended up on the finale track.

The song is about when you have broken up and find yourself in that state of mind where you don't know what to do so drinking and partying seem to be the best option. However, alcohol won't cure your heartache, and even though you try your hardest to get over your broken heart you still find yourself feeling lonely.

The music video was recorded by MBC Productions and filming took place around Aarhus (DK) in empty streets since COVID-19 had people staying at home.

The song is written by Andrew Chen, produced by Morten Bytofte, and mastered by Holger Lagerfeldt.

Amnesia

"Amnesia" was released in 2021. Originally the song was written as a slow ballad on a piano but later turned into a pop-vibed song with a very electronic hook.

The song is about when you keep on returning to your ex-girl- or boyfriend. Somehow you just keep forgetting why you even left in the first place. Or maybe you are just weak with no backbone which is why you end up where you started.

This song was only released in single format with no belonging music video.

The song is written by Andrew Chen, produced by Morten Bytofte and Jeppe Pilgaard, and mastered by Holger Lagerfeldt.
